Adding a Showcase to Canvas

Use this process to embed a MyVideoSpot showcase into Canvas so students can easily access multiple media items from a single page or assignment. 

How to add a Showcase to a Canvas Page:

Step 1: In MyVideoSpot, go to Media Tools and select Showcases. 

Step 2: Click on the share link icon for the showcase you would like to share in Canvas. Then click Copy next to the Embed Code.

Step 3: Open your Canvas account and select the course where you want to add the showcase. In the course navigation, go to the Pages section. 

Step 4: Click Add Page to create a new page. 

Step 5: In the page text editor, locate and click the Embed (cloud) icon. You may have to expand the formatting options by clicking the three dots (More Options) to see the embed option. 

Step 6: Paste the embed code you copied from MyVideoSpot into the embed code box, then click Submit. 

Step 7: Scroll down and adjust any page settings as needed. Click Save & Publish so students can access the page. 

How to add a Showcase to a Canvas Assignment:

You can also embed the same showcase in a Canvas assignment by following the same steps within the assignment editor (using the Embed option and pasting the same embed code). The showcase will then appear directly on the assignment page, just as it appears on the standalone page.
