MyVideoSpot in Schoology

The MyVideoSpot integration for Schoology lets you add MyVideoSpot media directly into assignments and embed Insights with grade passback — all from within Schoology.

Installing the Schoology App

Navigate to Administrator Tools > Apps and click the Setup button for Schoology to view installation instructions unique to your district.

Adding Media to a Schoology Assignment

1. Launch Schoology, click Courses from the top menu, then click Add Materials.
2. Click Add Assignment.
3. Enter your assignment details as normal. When you're ready to add a video, click the Insert Content icon on the editor bar and select MyVideoSpot. This opens a pop-up with all the media from your MyVideoSpot account.
4. Click Select for the media item you want to add.
5. Once inserted, the media will appear in your assignment (represented by a yellow box if it's a video).
6. Select a course and any other optional items, then click Create at the bottom of the pop-up.

Adding an Insight to Schoology

1. Click the Add Materials dropdown and select Add File/Link/External Tool.
2. Select External Tool.
3. Change the Tool Provider dropdown to MyVideoSpot and give your assignment a title.
4. In a new tab, navigate to your Insights. Click the link icon next to the quiz you'd like to use, and copy the LTI External Tool Link.
5. Return to your Schoology tab and paste the link into the URL field. Leave the Consumer Key and Shared Secret fields blank.
6. Check the Enable Grading checkbox and choose your grading options.
7. Click Submit when finished.

Grading an Insight

If an Insight doesn't contain any open-answer questions, it's graded automatically as soon as a student submits it — the grade appears in your Schoology gradebook with no extra steps. If the Insight does contain open-answer questions, you'll need to grade those manually before the grade passes to Schoology.
