Media Player Layout
Whether you’re watching a video, listening to audio, previewing an image, or reviewing a document, the MyVideoSpot media player provides a streamlined experience — plus tools for interaction, tracking, and sharing.
Player Overview
Clicking the Thumbnail or Title of an item will open the media player, allowing you to:
- Watch videos
- Listen to audio files
- Preview images, PDFs, or MediaSpot projects
- Download other file types – clicking the thumbnail will begin a download
Media Icons
When viewing your own media, you’ll see several icons in the top right corner of the player. These give you quick access to commonly used actions:
- Star (Add to Favorites) – Save the item to your Favorites for easy access
- Share – Copy a link, embed code, QR code (for fast sharing, great for presentations or print materials), or send to Google Classroom (based on your permission settings)
- More Menu – Click for additional actions, including:
- Edit Attributes – Update title, description, tags, permissions, and more
- Edit Video – Trim or crop the media using the built-in editor
- Edit Captions – Modify speech-to-text or uploaded caption files
- Edit Bookmarks – Add, update, or remove video bookmarks
- Edit Audio Tracks – Add voice overlays or replace audio tracks on a video
- Launch in My Studio –
- Add to Group
- Add to Team
- Add to Showcase
- Add to Digital Sign
- Add to Featured Media
- Notify Users – Instantly alert selected users about this item
- Media Tracking – View viewer data and watch times
- Send to Google Drive
- Download Media – Save the item locally
- Delete – Remove the item
Below the Media Preview
Below the player, you’ll find:
- Description & Details – Displays the item’s title, uploader info, and any optional description
- Tags & Standards – Used for filtering and organization
- Comments – Viewers can leave comments here (students and staff can interact, depending on permissions)
